Standards, Quality and Improvement Plan 2016/17: SQIP 16/17 St Mary’s (Leith)
Summary of Standards, Quality and Improvement Plan: Summary for Parents/Carers
We are all very proud of our school uniform and this is available to be ordered from the school office. Parents are asked to co-operate with the school in encouraging the wearing of the school uniform. It incorporates a range of popular items of dress, e.g. sweatshirts, t-shirts.
Wearing school uniform contributes to a positive school ethos and helps avoid discrimination and reduces peer pressure to wear expensive designer clothing.
Our school uniform consists of:
White blouse/shirt with school tie
Green cardigan or jumper
White/yellow/green polo shirt with badge
Green sweatshirt/hooded top or fleece with badge.
Green and white school dress [summer]
Black sweatshirt/hooded top or fleece with badge – Primary 7 only
Menus offer healthy and tasty meal options while reflecting the Scottish Government food and drink legal requirements for school lunches. Special diets and allergies are usually accommodated subject to consultation with parent/guardian and catering services.
Meal prices are reviewed annually. The current price for a school meal is £2.05.
Children are invited to order school dinners or to bring their own packed lunch. At all times we promote ‘healthy eating’ and so we discourage fizzy drinks and sweets/chocolate and we promote water and fruit.
School meals are free for all Primary 1 to Primary 3 pupils since 6th January 2015. Payment for Primary 4 to Primary 7 pupils must be made weekly in advance.
All School meals for Primary 1 to Primary 7 must be pre-selected weekly in advance and the main meal order forms will be distributed on a Monday morning, for return by Wednesday at the latest, for the following week.
Milk is available for morning break and this can be paid for the whole year – £30.40 or in six week blocks – £4.35.
